Saturday Doodle

Up early - washed the cars and drew this one to fill some time in before heading out - happy with him, the small person has now stolen it and stuck it to her wall. Sorry for not posting for a time, been busy at work/home and haven't had time to start a new piece.

I dream of...

The other day I was scribbling during a telephone meeting and the below was the result.

Not really all that great but I really liked the little lamp chap at the bottom. I couldn't get him out of my mind and sketched him up some more. I didn't want a mass of bits coming out of his pointy spout so I rustled up a Genie.

Love the blue leads as they allow you to keep reworking the same paper without killing the details. Next up I scanned in my line work and redrew it in illustrator and messed around until I found a colour scheme I liked. Dragged the line work in to photoshop and worked it up from there. Here's where I'm at tonight - might work them up some more but then again I may leave them as is. To view them over on Flickr click here.

Tattoo rose

This morning I got out the water colour paints that had been laying in my draw unused and gave them a try out. I thought I'd tie it in with a request for a rose and dagger tattoo.

Here's the original scamp on a4 (love the blue leads).

A little tracing paper action and a ruler to tidy it up and I was ready for my maiden voyage in to water colour.

Painted the a few layers of colours and finished off with my trusty tech pens.

I have to admit using the water colours was fun, I will be doing more painting with them in the future and hopefully get some skills along the way.

Old Skool

Well a pen ink and water colour drawing/paint tonight for skullnation (a group I run over on flickr). Why the Powell Bones Ripper logo? Well it's one of my mates all time favourites, so I thought I'd surprise him with this (I'll frame it up first and let you know how it goes down).
