Squidhead

Here's Squidhead - after drawing him last week at doodle planet I thought I'd start a little sculpt inspired by him. His tentacles are held on at the moment with some soft sculpey - need to sand him down before I attach them. Let me know what you think :-D

Foxy

The other night in between drawing skull (my 356 project is nearing it's end) I scribbled a little for illustration (below). I thought I'd draw him up in illustrator. I did a quick halftone pattern at the bottom - watch out for more of these, I think I like 'em.

Xmas Doodle Planet

Last Thursday we braved the cold and headed up north for the last doodle planet of the year. A small but friendly turnout (I think the weather had put people off) - but a great time was had by all. At the end of the night our scribbles were auctioned off for charity. The lovely one red shoe slapped some cash out for my 'squidhead' painting.

If you are in the Chester area on a Thursday night I recommend checking out the planet of doodle.

Zombie paintjob

Got the paints out and gave Donald a coat of paint. Came out looking grim - just how I wanted him to look. Normal happy sculpts and drawings will follow :-)

Zombie Donald Duck

Well I like zombies and I live Donald Duck so u thought I'd make a zombie Donald. He's got bones coming through one leg and one arm and has a hand and eye missing. Looking forward to sanding him and painting him up - think he will look dead good ;-)

Guts anyone?

Rear ended.

Who needs the 2nd hand shop?

Byron needs a hand (win some stuff)

I managed to grab some time to carry on with my little vampire 'Byron' sculpt this weekend. Sculpted up his hands and arms and with the help of super glue attached them to him.

Dressed him up with a shirt and collar - but something was missing. I had sculpted his arm and hand in the air for a reason, I though that he could do with a little friend...

And that little friend turned out to be a cute little bat. The problem is that I can't think of a name for him. This is where you come in. If you fancy winning some fresh stickers and a doodle, leave a comment below with a 'batty' name and I'll pick a winner on Friday 10th December.

Vampire weekend

The other night I scribbled a little vampire and thought he turned out pretty cute - So I got to thinking that he'd make a good subject for a sculpt. Here's the work I've done on him so far. As with everything I sculpt of my own, the change a little as I go - let the clay take me where it wants to go :-D

Thought Bubbling...

The Saturday alarm clock went off on the dot - 6:30 (I say alarm clock, I mean the excited kid). We all got up and ready pretty quickly and headed up the road to Leeds to 'Thought Bubble'.

Man it was bitter cold! And to top it off there was only a bl**dy huge line waiting to get in - who'd have thought comics could be so popular ;-)

Our main reason for the visit wasn't really to buy comics but to meet up with and to put faces to twitter bods - funny how you can chat to people for over a year and have know clue what they look like.

First on the hit list (even though I've meet 'em before) was the ever talented duo Felt Mistress (@FeltMistress) and Jon Edwards (@Jontofski) - Man, not to sound like an ass kisser but these chaps rock - they brought a long a goody bag for my daughter (If she can get it off me) it was packed with goodness so sweet my teth hurt and also an amazing 1 of a kind present (I'll leave the that for another post).

Here's some of the swag:

I also managed to get a copy of Jon's new sketchbook - if you're quick you can head over here and sort yourself one out.

After a walk around the hall we managed to find in no partculer order:

The Mooks (@themooks)
Things by Dan (WebPage)
Joe List (@mokuroku) (WebPage)
Sarah McIntyre (@jabberworks) (WebPage)
Lee Monks (@koris2k)

What a great bunch - all very chatty and having some awesome work for sale. Sorry to everyone else I meet and haven't linked, I am rubbish with names.

Some of the chaps we stopped to talk with (I know as I have flyers)
Ninja Bunny
Fetishman
PBrainey
Chicken & Chips
Spandexcomic

One of the stands even got a little helping hand from this hot chick for a while (I'm biased though) :-D

All in all a great time was had by all the hand out bag from the convention was worth the entrance fee alone - roll on next years event.

The 2010 Wonder Room

I managed to get over to Selfridges (London) yesterday to check out the Christmas windows and instore displays created and installed ny my good friends FeltMistress and Jontski.

WOW! If you get the chance it's a must do, but be quick as with all good things it's not going to last, not with all the interested people I saw dribbling over their fantastic creations.

The Cat Table

Well she's done, after alot of sanding, spraying, scribbles, spraying and more scribbling. I'm really happy with how this piece has turned out. I think you would call her an occasional table, standing 420mm high and topped with a 370mm square of lovely scribble wood ready to grace any doodle/cat lovers house.

If you think you'd fancy giving her a warm home let me know.

Another Sunday - Another Sculpt

I drew this little fella in my pad about a month ago and wanted to sculpt him up, I had some time spare today so got busy. He turned out cute. You can remove his skull and also move it around to give him some expression. Tempted to paint a little face under the skull when I get some time. To see the WIP select here.

UPDATE:
Due to the interest I've had from everyone about 'Jeremy' I reckon I'm going to dig out my lego and cast some resin copies of him - keep your eyes peeled :-D

Tuttz Tee

Well then the cats out of the bag - here's the cheeky side project I've been working on with Mr Argonaut:

'Just wanted to send you guys and gals the exclusive and latest news at Argonaut Resins - I'm now producing tshirts with collabos with selected artists and the first one is with Rich Page who also won the 'Win a free OG Tuttz' art contest. He was chosen by Jaime who ran the contest over at her Kollectible Kulture site. A lot of artists slept on the contest and the hidden jem was I was going to pick one of the designs to turn into a limited Tuttz Tee! Rich's design knocked me out and he agreed to do the Tuttz Ankh logo in the same style for the back of the Tee to cap off a really nice looking shirt overall.

These first shirts (white Tee / black ink with 3 imprint areas, front back and left sleeve) will be only 30 pieces, numbered and tagged and will go for $24.99 (includes shipping for US ONLY - overseas shipping will cost more depending on where it's going). Sizes for the Tee are Medium, Large and XLarge (I may do small on a pre-order basis not sure as of yet). I will be putting them up in the Argonaut Resins online store this Monday August 23 at Noon est. time.'
